The Wonders of His Love (O’ Praise Him)

"To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory." (Colossians 1:27 AMPC)

I woke up one morning to hear the song, "O' Praise Him" on the radio.  My thoughts immediately went to thoughts of praising the Lord. The song lyrics talked about gazing into heaven and seeing the praise of God that is going on there—angels singing, saints and all people praising. The joy, the light, the love—O' Praise Him! As I got up, part of another song came to my heart, "The Wonders of His Love." He filled my thoughts, He sent His Son because He wanted to be with us to show His love, and for us to love Him and to know the wonders of His love.

Oh what joy! I thought.

As I continued my quiet time, I continued to sing that part of the song, "the wonders of His love, the wonders of His love." As I continued to sing that part of the song I thought, What is the beginning of this song anyway? Then I realized I was singing, "Joy to the World." So I began to think about it as I continued to sing.

"Joy to the world the Lord is come." Jesus came and is God, Emanuel, with us. "Let earth receive her King." Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. "Let every heart prepare Him room and heaven and nature sing." I began again to think about, “O’ Praise Him,” with thoughts of seeing the joy and His love, and the fact that He sent His Son, Jesus. Oh the "Wonders of His Love," was going over and over in my heart and mind. "He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove, the glory of His righteousness and wonders of His love." I stopped and thought, Praise God! The wonders of His love! Then I began to read my devotional which opened up saying "God is I AM" and He is God with us who came to show us His love through His Son, Jesus—unmerited favor, unmerited grace. Oh the wonders of His love! Rejoice in Him and the wonders of His love! O’ praise Him!

Declare The Word:

I praise You, God, for allowing me to be part of Your family! I praise You, God, for the wonders of Your love! I praise You, God, for this time of year! I praise You, God, for bringing salvation to me! I praise You, God, for bringing Your Son, Jesus to save all those who believe in Him, and that includes me! I praise You, God, for access into Your divine nature through Jesus! I praise You, God, for helping me to praise You! I praise You, God! Hallelujah to You forever! Thank You so much for Your unfailing love!!

Go Deeper:

You includes you who were once far away from GodYou were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it. -Colossians 1:21-23 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory. -Colossians 1:26-27 NLT For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. -John 3:16 AMP
