Seekers

"He who seeks good finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it." -Proverbs 11:27 (NIV)

When searching for a new car have you ever noticed that everyone is driving that same car you’ve been looking at on the dealer lots? While that’s probably not the case, it’s the car you see everywhere you go. It’s not that there’s been a surge of people buying the same car you want, rather it’s that your eyes have been programmed to seek out that specific car. You’ve probably seen that car everyday but didn’t realize because you were focused on other things.

What you spend your time looking for is just what you will find.

Matt 6:22-23 says, “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness…” If it’s good you seek, you will find it and your whole body will benefit from it. If you seek not-so-good things, that’s what you’ll find and in turn affect every area of your life. This is why the Word cautions against the lust of the eyes. It drives you to seek after what your eyes desire and can in one day wipe out your entire savings on things you don’t need. What you set your eyes to gaze upon will determine whether you are prosperous or impoverished.

Remember, prosperity isn’t just about having a lot of money and things. It’s a mindset. You can have everything yet be a slave to it. Prosperity always leads to freedom. If you are seeking after something, find yourself feeling anxious and unwilling to wait on God, take a step back and set it before Him. Anxiety and impatience are indicators of the spirit of fear and as a child of God, you have not been given that spirit but one of POWER and LOVE and A SOUND MIND! Turn your attention and focus to God and the good things He has already given you and you’ll find more being poured into your lap!

Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” If there’s something you desire to have, ask God for it and be willing to wait on His timing. Then, invest your time and energy seeking the good things of God and you’ll find His BLESSINGS overflowing in your life!

Declare The Word:

Lord, if there’s anything I’m seeking after that isn’t good, I give it up to You. I trust You that when I ask something of You, I will receive. I rest in that truth and patiently wait for it in Your timing. I set my eyes to seek good things like hidden treasure and rejoice now that I will find them and prosper in every area of my life!
